Workshops

Join us this Summer for Session 3, July 11, 2013.

From the Farm Cooking School

FoodographyPEC welcomes Food Stylist Ruth Gangbar, Photographer Christopher Gentile , and Designer Tim Snyder of Ton-up Creative to the 3rd session on Thurs July 11, 2013, from 9 am-3 pm at From the Farm Cooking School with owner (and cookbook author) Cynthia Peters, where our Foodography team will be demonstrating photography and styling of a “Lifestyle” food scenario, complete with fully propped table settings.

Ruth will be working with Cynthia’s menu, demonstrating a stylist’s touch to the 3 course, Summer inspired menu, complete with iced beverages and wines from Long Dog Winery. We’ll be setting up under a shady tree in the garden of Cynthia’s 1840′s heritage farmhouse, with it’s vegetable, herb and flower gardens.

Experience a commercial photography shoot scenario which will include second (garden) and third (covered porch) sets, where Christopher will demonstrate finding best angles for capturing images of food (using professional equipment as well as using your own cameras, receiving tutorials from the team). Participants are strongly recommended to bring a tripod.

Observe Tim as he demonstrates cropping of images, layout, and basic design technique such as moving type and dropping images captured during the workshop into layout for designing rack cards, website banners etc.

Our hands-on part of the day: Plating and styling your own dessert course.
