FoodographyPEC is it again, Jan 21, 2017

We’re brightening up Saturday January 21, 2017 with our 11th FoodographyPEC Foodstyling & Photography Workshop.

Join our small group of 10 participants at The Waupoos Market Pub and Eatery (from 8.30 am until 3.30 pm)…with sponsors Cressy Mustard & Humble Bread (with their fab pretzels), and delicious local brews by Lake on the Mountain Brewing Company. Share the day with me (Ruth Gangbar,food stylist) and Christopher Gentile (lighting wizard and photographer) for a day of beer pouring/shooting demos with tasty snacks, of course. Cravings for locally-caught fresh fish sandwiches to eat & shoot are the order of the day, closing with a guided beer tasting provided by brew-master Ryan.

online-january-workshop-webHOW IT WORKS: We’ll be demonstrating a real-time photo shoot using primarily natural lighting, continuing throughout the day with personalized tutorials as YOU build your own shots (with beer,foods and props provided). Moderate camera skills (and comfort with your equipment) are encouraged.

WHERE/WHEN WE’LL MEET: The Waupoos Market Pub and Eatery…you guessed it…in Waupoos Ontario, in Prince Edward County. Arrive at 8.30 am for coffee,muffins & intros- until 3.30 wrap up (due to low light conditions….hey,it’s January).Linger until 4.30 with image sharing and general mirth.  SNOW DATE: JANUARY 28, 2017 as weather is unpredictable.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: a digital camera, tripod, and enthusiasm.

COST: $390 per person (*a Prince Edward County Library card will get you a $50 discount for $340 per person + HST) Sessions are NOT refundable, but are transferable.   Included in fee: Morning Coffee with muffins & Lunch. Beer tasting with nibbles. All beer & food used for photography.

Small groups are such a luxurious way to share skills, network and explore. On Sept 20 2015, we met, we ate well, and made new friends. A big thanks goes out to talented & generous photographer Laura Berman of Greenfuse Photography, and hosts Lorraine and Lori at Thyme Again Gardens in Carrying Place, PEC. The weather was PERFECT for lingering large in the garden; grateful for participants traveling from TO, Barrie, Brockville, Ottawa, and Milford, bringing collective skills as tea sommelier, blogger/recipe writers/photographers, a budding food stylist. We’re happily launching registrations now, for the 8th FoodographyPEC food styling & photography workshop.

Food Stylist Ruth Gangbar (me! http://www.ruthscanteen.com/food-styling) and photographer Laura Berman of Green Fuse Photography (  http://www.greenfusephotos.com)

will be sharing tips and techniques with a small group ( 8 participants maximum), as demonstrated in a real-time photoshoot using natural lighting, continuing throughout the day with personalized tutorials as YOU build your on shots (with foods and props provided).

This session will be hosted by Thyme Again Gardens B & B (http://thymeagain.com) and (“Down to Earth” Health and Wellness), with its antique-filled heritage farmhouse, and of course {weather permitting}…outdoors… at this certified organic, mixed farm located in PEC. It’s an incredibly picturesque setting with a rustic farm stand, bee hives, apple orchard, mixed livestock (including chickens, sheep, cows, pigs), herb and vegetable gardens.

Date: Sunday Sept 20

Fee: $375 per person plus HST , including breakfast, lunch and afternoon refreshments. {Accommodations are additional}

Time: 9 am- 4.30 pm
