Karlo Estates Winery in Prince Edward County

Sunday Sept 10, 2017, with Vegan Chef Chris Byrne

Arrive at 9am to coffee, a light breakfast, and introductions.

Continue with a demonstration of food styling and photography with food stylist Ruth Gangbar and photographer Christopher Gentile, with amazing Vegan foods prepared by Chef Chris Byrne. Choose from our props selection to create your own photography scenario, with small group tutorials, personalized art direction, and tastings of Vegan appetizers that are available to shoot and eat.

Break for a uniquely created, fabulous “Vegan Harvest Lunch” featuring locally grown and wildcrafted foods, shared together at the long table.

Continue with outdoor food photography { weather permitting } with something sweet for dessert, and more tutorials and opportunities to share your images with the group. Close the workshop with a guided, personalized wine tasting of the award winning Karlo Estates Winery’s wines and ports in their cozy tasting room, located in a historic barn in Wellington, Prince Edward County. Visit the largest dry stone wall bridge in Ontario, located on site.

Fee: $395 + HST per person  Bring your digital camera (or camera phone), a tripod if desired). Moderate experience with photography is recommended.

Small groups are such a luxurious way to share skills, network and explore. On Sept 20 2015, we met, we ate well, and made new friends. A big thanks goes out to talented & generous photographer Laura Berman of Greenfuse Photography, and hosts Lorraine and Lori at Thyme Again Gardens in Carrying Place, PEC. The weather was PERFECT for lingering large in the garden; grateful for participants traveling from TO, Barrie, Brockville, Ottawa, and Milford, bringing collective skills as tea sommelier, blogger/recipe writers/photographers, a budding food stylist. Foodography Poster Session 8

We’re happily launching registrations now, for the 8th FoodographyPEC food styling & photography workshop.

Food Stylist Ruth Gangbar (me! and photographer Laura Berman of Green Fuse Photography (

will be sharing tips and techniques with a small group ( 8 participants maximum), as demonstrated in a real-time photoshoot using natural lighting, continuing throughout the day with personalized tutorials as YOU build your on shots (with foods and props provided).

This session will be hosted by Thyme Again Gardens B & B ( and (“Down to Earth” Health and Wellness), with its antique-filled heritage farmhouse, and of course {weather permitting}…outdoors… at this certified organic, mixed farm located in PEC. It’s an incredibly picturesque setting with a rustic farm stand, bee hives, apple orchard, mixed livestock (including chickens, sheep, cows, pigs), herb and vegetable gardens.

Date: Sunday Sept 20

Fee: $375 per person plus HST , including breakfast, lunch and afternoon refreshments. {Accommodations are additional}
